Tops Fitness and Rehabilitation provides physiotherapy for whiplash.
Whiplash is an injury to the neck, when soft tissue in the spine is stretched and strained after the body is thrown in a sudden forceful jerk. The most common cause is car accidents but it can occur in strenuous physical activities like rugby.
Whiplash is a short term injury and rarely causes long term symptoms
It can start within 6 hrs or take a few days for the symptoms to come on. The pain and stiffness is usually worse the day after the injury. It takes a few days or weeks for the acute pain to lessen, however some people can have problems lasting over 12 weeks.
