At Our Centre
Physiotherapy
We have earned an excellent reputation in providing neuro physiotherapy, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and vestibular rehabilitation to our local community and beyond. All our physiotherapists have a wealth of experience and skills and are passionate about making a difference.
Our experienced physiotherapist can provide physiotherapy for paediatrics with a spinal cord injury.
Assessments and Reports
Our experienced physiotherapists are able to perform a detailed assessment of your particular problems and work with you to decide on a plan to achieve your goals. We are able to provide reports for case managers to assist in accessing rehabilitation and further support.
Specialist Equipment
We are extremely proud of the specialist equipment such as the Lite Gait, Balo trainer, active passive bikes, functional electrical stimulation bike, accessible gym equipment, standing frames, parallel bars and other electrical modalities that we are able to use to help our physiotherapists and clients make progress and achieve their goals.
Accessible Gym
We have a fully accessible gym open to the general public. Our facility has specialist equipment, which you can use from a wheelchair. The gym has fitness instructors who are experienced in working with people with disabilities. You do not have attend our centre for physiotherapy in order to use the gym. We may request you talk to our physiotherapist regarding your particular problems, before starting your exercise programme.
Skills
We are experienced in teaching people wheelchair skills, transfers and how to best access your environment. We believe in empowering you to access your environment and make the most of your functional ability.
Seating and Posture
We are experienced in assessing your seating and posture requirements and identifying the optimal wheelchair and postural support, to best manage your seated position. We work with various mobility specialists to help you achieve comfort, support and independence.
Our musculoskeletal physiotherapists can work with you to help improve your structural support and help control pain.
Training
Our physiotherapists can deliver training for you, your team and support workers to provide the right assistance and support at the appropriate level and time. We are however unable to provide competency certification beyond our scope of practice.
Complementary Therapies

Home Visits
We are able to provide home visits if you are unable to attend our centre. This is short term as we strongly believe we are able to provide better therapy and social integration through our centre.

Gym, School or Work Visits
We can visit your fitness centre, place of education or work place, to ensure you are empowered to access your environment and are enabled to lead an interactive lifestyle with confidence.
Rehabilitation Instructor
Our rehabilitation instructor can work under the supervision of our physiotherapists to help you perform your rehabilitation programme in the community and help you build the confidence to access your local community and activities.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy can help with pain relief and provides an excellent environment for rehabilitation of a number of conditions where heat and support can assist with movement. We perform hydrotherapy for our neuro clients at various local hydrotherapy pools in Yorkshire. We are limited by the times we are able to access these hydrotherapy pools.

Peer Support
We provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with a mixture of people who are in active rehabilitation or ongoing management, as well as people attending the gym for their fitness and wellbeing. We are here to support each other and share our experience and knowledge.
Meeting Room
Due our location in Wakefield we have excellent road (M1 and M62) and rail links (London-Leeds-Edinburgh). We are able to provide a meeting area for our clients and their team of professionals.

Lite Gait
We have had the Lite Gait at Tops for several years, our clients love it and physiotherapists treatments have benefitted from using it.
LiteGait® is a gait training device that simultaneously controls weight bearing, posture, and balance. It creates an ideal environment for treating patients with a wide range of impairments and functional levels. LiteGait provides proper posture, reduces weight bearing, eliminates concerns for balance, and facilitates the training of coordinated lower extremity movement. It allows the physiotherapist to manually assist the legs and pelvis to achieve proper gait patterns.

Balo trainer
The theratrainer balo is a dynamic standing and balancing trainer, it has can be easily adjusted to suit the needs of high level quadriplegics to walkers. It allows the therapist to work you in different positions, to switch on the trunk and work the legs and gain the advantages of standing at the same time.

Active /passive bikes
We have 3 active passive bikes which help our clients and gym member to exercise their legs and arms actively from their wheelchairs. It also helps those who have no movement in their legs to maintain soft tissue and joint mobility and aid with circulation.
