I qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Huddersfield and initially worked within the NHS. After specialising as a MSK practitioner I joined the RAF where I was responsible for rehabilitating injured service personnel, including fast jet pilots and elite athletes. I was also the lead physio for the RAF and the Great Britain Armed Forces Rugby League teams. I do not just treat sports injuries though. Physiotherapy is beneficial in treating a wide range of conditions including back pain, arthritis, pre and post-operative rehabilitation, work related injuries and much more.
As a physiotherapist I offer a variety of hands on techniques as well as exercise therapy, but place a strong emphasis on educating and empowering my patients to take ownership of their injuries. By listening to the patient and assessing the injury I aim to discover and treat the cause of the injury as well as treating the more obvious symptoms. Most of my patients will receive realistic homework to do, specific to their needs and abilities, in order to enhance their recovery.
