Tops Fitness and Rehabilitation ltd was established in 2005 by directors, Jimmy Gittins, Steve Johnson and Natasha Green. We converted Tops Fitness center to create an accessible, rehabilitation area and gym, with the desire to provide people who have had a neurological injury with the choice of having further specialist neuro physiotherapy once they had been discharged from hospital.
Over the past 12 years we have seen a tremendous growth in the number of people looking for private physiotherapy to enable them to achieve their goals or provide quick access to treatment so they can return to work or their daily activities and enjoy their lives.
The gym is the oldest gym in Wakefield having been part of the community of Wakefield for over 35 years. We have developed our personal training service and provide a truly accessible training environment which is personal and friendly.
We have introduced complementary therapies to our center as we believe health and well-being requires a holistic approach to help support physical, emotional and mental wellness. We all need a little help in various areas at different times in our lives.
We are proud of our reputation and passionate about making a difference to our clients.
You will always find one of the directors at the centre.

What our clients say
“I work with clients with Neurological conditions and specialise in those who have a Spinal Cord Injury. Whenever practically possible I recommend my clients to attend TOPs to continue their rehabilitation journey post discharge where I know they will reach their full potential. I worked with one of the Co-owners of the centre, physiotherapist Natasha Green, for many years in the Spinal Injuries Centre at Pinderfields Hospital and this was where I first developed my respect for her expertise, positivity and her philosophy of always focusing on a person’s ability and strengths; she does not see her clients as ‘disabled’ but people who need specialised help at this time in their lives so that they can then carry on and live life to the full with their new set of circumstances.
TOPs now employ a very skilled team of neurological physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants who have provided the same ethos and excellent service to all of my clients who have attended. They have also been able to benefit from the fully equipped gymnasium which is used by able bodied and wheelchair users alike and which is run by Co owner Steve Johnson; a multi award winning body building champion; the centre also provides a number of complementary therapies including; massage, Pilates and acupuncture which I too have benefited from.
