Joint Problems

Joint problems, can be caused by arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, bursitis, sprains or strains. They may just involve pain, or pain and swelling, or pain, swelling and bruising. Depending on the cause and severity.

Your joint problem may be acute or chronic depending on how long you have had the symptoms and if you have had recurrent episodes of the problem.

Most joint pain will ease over a period of a few days but if it persists it is advisable to seek help through your GP or physiotherapist.

It is always worth trying the Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.

Applying cold and hot for 5 min each over a period of 30 min a few times a day may help inflammation.

Following a detailed subjective assessment by our experienced physiotherapist, where we will listen to you, we will then look and feel, to assess your problems and then work with you to provide a long term self management strategy.
